Position Title

Tech Talk Focus Group Leader/Facilitator

Overview

The Tech Talk Focus Group Leader or Facilitator will be responsible for organizing and leading discussions, meetups, and activities centered around a wide range of technology topics. This volunteer will help create an open, engaging environment where members can explore current trends, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate regular Focus Group meetings, including setting agendas and coordinating speakers or discussion topics.
  • Encourage participation and lead discussions on a variety of technology topics, from AI to cybersecurity to emerging trends.
  • Foster a welcoming, informal environment that encourages curiosity, learning, and idea-sharing.
  • Collaborate with other Focus Group leaders and organizational stakeholders to align activities with CCS goals.
  • Stay informed about current technology trends and share relevant topics and insights with the group.

Qualifications

  • General interest in technology and willingness to explore a wide range of topics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to facilitate open discussions and encourage participation
  • Comfortable guiding conversations, even when topics vary from session to session
  • Previous experience leading or facilitating groups is helpful but not required

Time Commitment

Flexible. The Focus Group Leader or Facilitator can choose a day and time that works best for the group. Meetings may be held in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.

Reporting Structure

The Focus Group Leader/Facilitator will report to the Education Director.
