RESCHEDULED – Automotive Infotainment Systems: How Smart Is Your Modern Motor Vehicle?

Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Modern cars are now “rolling computers,” featuring infotainment systems that integrate navigation, music, calls, climate controls, and apps into a single touchscreen hub. These systems support smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto), voice control, and over-the-air software updates—making vehicles more connected, convenient, and safer for hands-free driving.

Brands differ in their software support and dealer responsiveness. Lexus, Buick, Tesla, Ford, and GM stand out for reliability and update capabilities, while others may require more dealer intervention. Connectivity issues often stem from software mismatches, wireless interference, or hardware limitations, but frequent updates and quality dealer support can help.

Consumers should now consider infotainment quality, software longevity, and potential subscription costs when buying a car. As vehicles evolve, choosing the right infotainment system is as important as selecting the engine or body style.

Bill’s presentation will cover all of this and more.
